The practice

What is Kundalini Kriya Yoga?

Stress and exhaustion do not only sit in your head. They sit in your nervous system. That is where this practice starts.

Kriya

A sequence with a specific effect

A Kriya is a set sequence of breath, movement, mantras and mudras (hand positions), each aimed at a specific effect. One calms, another activates, a third releases tension.

It trains your nervous system to hold more energy than you are used to. We all carry patterns that quietly dampen that energy or force it down the same worn tracks, without us noticing. Kriya loosens those patterns, step by step. The energy that was locked away comes back to you.

Kundalini

The life energy in the body

In the yoga tradition, Kundalini is the life energy in the body. Kundalini Yoga is about waking this energy and teaching the nervous system to hold it.

Flow

Kriya, Asana and meditation

I combine Kriyas with flowing movement such as sun salutations, with breathwork and meditation. No complicated postures, no experience needed. You finish in calm, not exhaustion.

My teaching brings Kriya, Asana and meditation into one integrated, deep practice. Asana means posture, the yoga pose.

How a class runs

What happens in a class

  1. Sitting and feeling
  2. Sun salutations and asanas
  3. Kriyas of breath, movement and sound
  4. Stretching and meditation

A group class lasts 75 minutes. You leave the room quiet.

Not exercise, not a relaxation drill. What I offer is no quick fix. A practice that asks for seriousness, and then it works.
